Preparing For Your Trade Show Visit To Make Money Selling On Ebay

Some may see attending trade shows as an opportunity to take a vacation. After all, often they are held in popular tourist locales. However, it is a mistake to take that approach. Trade shows are really the perfect place to start your investigation to locate great new suppliers. There is preplanning to do before you attend. By taking a little time and assembling the right information and plans you can walk away from each trade show with not only some great new prospective suppliers, but also some great bargain prices on merchandise being offered. In this article I present preparing for your trade show visit to make money selling on eBay.

Know exactly the products you are targeting. This is as simple as developing a list of your current core products. You’ll use your product list to identify companies you feel you must meet once you arrive at the show. Don’t stop there, however. Add products within your current niche you have an interest in adding to your sales offerings. What better way to make a decision about those products then to view them at the show? Finally add a third category of products for future expansion into new niches. If time allows, these are vendors you can meet with while there.

With your product lists develop, start your preparation for the show by obtaining a list of all vendors prior to arriving at the show. Use the list to develop your plans while at the show. Use your product lists to match up with vendors supplying products. The first group to list would be the vendors you consider to be ‘must see’ while there. Move onto a second tier group of vendors that would be nice to visit if time allows. You might even want to add a third tier of vendors to meet as potential future suppliers.

Most show lists include the location of displays by the various sellers. Use the location map to create your own personal plan for the show. Since your goal is to make money selling on eBay, minimize your time and walking by grouping your path around the vendors that are closest to each other. Taking this approach will minimize the miles of walking as well as the amount of time it actually takes to see all of the products and meet with the vendors of interest to you.

Arrive at the trade show early. You’ll find arriving the first day is best. While many of the other buyers will wait until later the first day, or even until the second day to arrive, your goal is to get there early. There’s an important reason for this tactic. Arriving early means you will beat the crowd. You will have time to meet with the vendors of interest without fighting huge crowds. A more relaxed tour will make decision making less of a hassle for you. You will be able to ask your questions and you can examine the merchandise of interest as well as pricing options.

Don’t forget to ask every company you meet about their trade show specials and other closeout merchandise. If your goal is to make money selling on eBay, you will find these are rare buys that add to profits. Often vendors will have limited quantities of specially priced merchandise available so buy the specials early. If you are interested in a company and its products then continue the discussion. Consider placing a small sample order to test whether everything is as claimed. Continue to build relationships with companies of interest after the show to set you up to make money selling on eBay in the future.

To Your eBay Success!

Ebay Power & Profit For 2009

Ebay Power & Profit For 2009

If you did not know this by now you will by the time you get to the end of this article that eBay "The Power House" of all online auctions has continued to be the number 1 auction site of all time.

Many have attempted to duplicate such success, but all have failed!

Many have attempted to become a successful seller on eBay but have failed!

So how does one become a success with an online auction? My first suggestion would be to not attempt to create another auction site unless you have 10’s of billions of dollars lying around and a few years to loose lots of money in your attempt to compete with the auction giant.

Don’t take my word for it, Yahoo’s Auction service attempted to rival the giant but failed and folded it’s auction service.

So what does one do?

Simply learn how to play ball with eBay using their tools and services available to eBay sellers, but first you need to know what or who you are dealing with when it comes to the eBay auction giant! So let’s take a look at a little history of eBay:

EBay started business back in 1995 and was called AuctionWeb and creator Pierre Omidyar worked on his project over labor day weekend as an experiment with how equal access to information and opportunities affects the efficiency of marketplaces. EBay started to grow and by June of 1996 it topped revenues of over $10,000 with over 41,000 users and sales in excess of over $7 million.

In 1997 AuctionWeb changed it’s name to the official name of eBay as we know it today. With over 40 employees, 340,000 plus users and over $95 million in sales.

In 1998 eBay goes public with 138 employees, 2.1 million users and over $740 million in sales.

In 1999 eBay now has 640 employees, 10 million users and over 2 billion in sales.

In 2000, eBay now has 1,900 employees, 22 million users and over 5 billion in sales.

As you can see in just 5 years eBay’s growth was beyond compare and even today it’s beyond compare with over 13,000 employees, over 220 million users, over $50 billion in sales and over 2 million daily visitors.

As you can see nothing can beat the power of eBay for selling online! No other online site can get you as much traffic like eBay does. You can not even find a physical location that can get you as much business traffic as eBay does! Every day, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 362 days a years you have access to over an average of 2 million customers every day!

So how do you use the giant of online auctions to bring success to your retail business? Learn from experience and you can avoid the many failures I faced when first starting out.

All that I share with you is what I should have done first and I too could have avoided many failures, so learn from my mistakes.

Your goal is to move into power seller status and than to move into the upper levels of power sellers and you will have access to medical insurance, financial bonuses, major discounts and much more.

You will need to understand that building this business will take time, money and a lot of time management on your part and no matter how many promises you will find on the internet of fast wealth and easy money you can make on eBay is the furthest from the truth, but with hard work, a lot of time and a little money you too can have a successful online sales business with eBay.

I will list what will make you most successful for 2009 and the future to come:

1. Your first step is to educate yourself about eBay, the rules, the regulations, how to sell, what to sell, when to sell, how to list your item, how to photograph your item, how to pack and ship your item.

Your best source of information is from eBay by simply going to eBay’s seller resources, shipping center, seller education center, tools and eBay stores. Read and study all that your can on eBay’s site, next take your search to Google and search out all the articles you can find along with the many e-books you can down load for free. You should allow yourself no less than 30 day’s of solid study before your start out.

Be sure to read about marketing and advertising to help you with item titles and item details so that your descriptions will help sell your item.

2. You will need a paypal account since the majority of your customers will pay by paypal using credit or debit cards and even banking accounts

3. You will need some basic tools to get started in your online business such as:

a, You will need a computer. b, Internet connection. c, Printer. d, Scanner. e, Shipping scale. f, Packing supplies (You can get most of them for free by trash picking). g, A customer service phone (You can use a landline, Cell or online phone service). h, A digital camera.

4. You need product to sell, what you will be looking for is cheep, light weight and small product to sell.

My best sellers have always been items purchased from 99 cent and Dollar stores, sports cards, comic books and stamps.

I travel several larger cities on Friday and Saturday going to all the 99 cent and Dollar stores along with yard sales and auctions seeking out items that folks collect that I can easily photograph or scan, easily pack and ship and most Importantly get it cheep!

All items I list for 99c, some items may go for a loss leader and other items sell for profit, let me give you an example of sales from a few days ago:

1940 Lincoln Wheat Cent, sold for 1.00 with shipping of 49c for a total of $1.49 1909-P Lincoln Wheat Cent, sold for $1.25 with shipping of 49c for a total of $1.74 1914 Lincoln Wheat Cent, sold for 3.00 with shipping of 49c for a total of $3.49 1882 Indian Head Cent, sold for $2.35 with shipping of 49c for a total of $2.84 47 Comic books, sold for an average of $2.35 each with shipping of $1.00 each 75 Sports cards, sold for an average of $3.50 each with shipping cost of 85c each 10 Photo Frames, sold for an average of $3.75 each with shipping cost of $3.95 each

My total gross sales where $418.05, with shipping cost received of $152.21 for a total of $570.26 in funds received.

I had a total of $88.00 invested in the product sold, I listed a total of 200 items but only 136 of them sold and my listing fee’s where $30.00 with a final value fee of $36.58 for a total product sale cost of $154.58. My shipping cost was $158.10. After all is said and done my day’s net was $257.58.

I do this an average of 10 days per month netting me an average of over $2,500.00 per month all part time and spending an average of 100 hours in finding product, photographing, listing, selling and packing all mixed with my other freelance activities of mystery shopping, taking surveys and building web sites.

To your success, Ozark Mike

Wholesale Drop Shipping

Wholesale Drop Shipping: How to Make Money from Home using eBay

Ebay is one of the biggest Internet success stories in history, and it is still growing. Not only does it allow people to come to its website and bid upon items they want, it also allows people to open their own ebay business and use online auctions to make money. Wholesale drop shipping is a great way to sell on Ebay virtually risk free.

how to sell on ebayA wholesale drop shipper allows you to sell items without keeping a physical inventory. The company provides and stores products, then, when someone buys an item from an eBay business owner for example, that owner simply processes the order and sends it and payment onto the drop shippers who then package and ship the product to the customer. All you have to do is sell the products listed on the pages of a wholesale drop shipper’s web site for more than the drop shipper is charging and you’ll be on the way to an easy profit.

Drop shippers and wholesalers are an invaluable resource for all eBay store owners. They provide a means of simplifying the entire ordering process and enable entrepreneurs to make greater profits. The customer never knows that a third party exists because drop shippers will package the product using the eBay business owner’s labeling. By purchasing the products at wholesale prices, the eBay store owner profits the difference between that price and the winning bid amount while the drop shippers take care of everything else.

The beauty of drop shipping is that it is virtually risk free. Any business which fails to use a wholesale drop shipping company must bear the expense of buying the inventory and waiting until a sale is made before recuperating an investment. By using drop shippers, nothing is paid out until the customer’s payment is received. It is an ideal arrangement for people with little start up capital.

how to sell on ebayBasically, time is the only thing that an eBay business owner must invest when using drop shipping. And the majority of that time is spent on research, trying to find the best wholesale drop shippers to supply the quality products they wish to sell.

However, be warned, it is not all smooth sailing. It can take hours to find a reliable source. Believe me, searching for wholesale drop shipper companies using Google turns up middleman and broker network offers almost exclusively.

‘Brokers’ often have a very elaborate system of steps you need to take. Effectively, all that these companies are offering you is a commission sales situation. They require a W-9 to participate, something no real drop ship supplier would demand. In general you should NEVER, EVER pay a fee just to talk with someone about what they offer. No reputable business would require this.

make money on ebayA middleman drop ship company positions itself between the manufacturer/distributor wholesale drop shipper and the retailer. They generally aggregate many different suppliers and present them under ‘one roof’. Many charge a monthly fee and also have per order drop ship fees. In general, middlemen are best avoided as it is difficult to find profitable product lines given their mark up, participation fees, and per order drop ship fees. However, some companies do offer money making potential and if you have lots of time to spare this may be worth pursuing, for example the free trial at Doba.

The true wholesale drop shipping companies referred to throughout this article are manufacturers and distributors who are willing to work directly with internet retailers. You can use these sources to stock your eBay store or other online marketplace and stand to make a good profit. They require little or no money of eBay business owners, and they even take care of the entire logistics involved in getting an item to your customer. So if you are serious about making money on eBay look into the world of drop shipping today. Visit salehoo for a great list of wholesale drop shippers.

How To Become A Powerseller On Ebay

How To Become A Powerseller On Ebay

If you are serious about making money on eBay, becoming a PowerSeller is a very worthwhile goal. "Power Seller" is a very rare and coveted status, as it helps to attract more customers, ups your eBay presence, and saves you money on fees. It is one of the best ways to show potential bidders that you are a legitimate and trustworthy member of the eBay community and that you are very good at what you do. It is currently estimated that less than 4% of all eBay members are PowerSellers. In order to earn this title, though, you first have to meet a very specific list of criteria.

eBay PowerSellers are, if nothing else, very consistent. You have to maintain a very high volume of sales, great customer service, and a minimum positive feedback of 98%. eBay also lists Power Sellers in five different tiers; from lowest to highest they are: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and titanium. Those categories reflect your monthly earnings level and correspond to income of $1,000, $3,000, $10,000, $25,000, or $150,000 a month, respectively.

Clearly, $150,000 a month is a very hard number to hit and an even harder number to maintain, but lower income tiers still earn you both a respectable living and Power Seller status. In order to earn your status on a particular tier, you must meet its minimum sales requirements for at least the past three months in order to qualify.

Power Selling is not just focused on sales numbers, though. Customer service is just as, if not more, important (remember, PowerSellers maintain a minimum positive feedback rating of at least 98%). Going above and beyond may seem like an incredibly daunting task, but it does not have to be that difficult. It can be as simple as a handwritten note included with the shipment or an email thanking the customer for his or her purchase. Throwing in small surprise items also goes a long way. These activities not only contribute to great customer service but also promote consumer loyalty and repeat business. The more important each individual customer feels, the more likely they will be to purchase from you over and over again.

These little extras all combine to offer you Power Seller status. Be consistent, responsive, and genuinely concerned about the quality of your transactions with customers, and you can then watch your eBay business prosper to levels that will allow you to work from home on a full time basis.

Make Money Selling On Ebay By Shipping With Federal Express

make money from homeIf your goal is to make money selling on eBay, you may be concerned about shipping methods you can choose to get your packages to your customers in the time they require it to be delivered. Some customers may require over night delivery, and if they are willing to pay for this service, it will be handy to have this option available to them as well. Federal Express or FedEx is probably one of the most well known names in over night shipping. But most people do not know that FedEx also has a ground service at a lower rate than over night. In this article I present make money selling on eBay by shipping with Federal Express.

When shipping on eBay, by choosing FedEx as one of your shipping couriers, not only do you get the highest quality and speediest delivery, FedEx also offers tools to help calculate shipping costs and allows you more freedom to sell your items, instead of worrying about shipping. Shipping with FedEx allows you to pay for your shipping directly from your computer. You do not need to take your package to a FedEx retailer to figure out how much it will cost to ship your package. You can do it all from your home with a scale to weigh your package before listing it on eBay. Then you set up your costs accordingly which is one of the secrets if you want to make money selling on eBay.

make money on ebayThere are a few things you will need to know before setting up your shipping costs for each item. You should know the shipping package dimensions, package weight, and location or zip code you are shipping from. You can calculate how much it will cost to ship anywhere in the world from there. By using FedEx, you can just input this information into their web site and they will tell you exactly how much it will cost, leaving no room for error on your part.

With FedEx, you can ship to any place in the world your customers are located and you can ship these over night if you or your customer so choose. You can ship any item no matter how small or large with FedEx. This means no matter what you are selling, you can rely on FedEx to ship these items in a timely manner.

Also, there are many FedEx retailers every where in the world. After you get your package ready to go and have affixed your shipping label, you only need to drop it off at any FedEx retailer. FedEx even has drop off points that you can drive through without having to get out of your car. This makes it very easy to ship with FedEx when selling on eBay.

Do not let the daunting prospect of shipping items sold on eBay stress you out. EBay partnered with Federal Express to take the worry and fear out of shipping items to any where in the world. Your customers will be satisfied, and satisfied customers are repeat customers – and that’s how you make money selling on eBay.

Make Money On Ebay By Creating And Growing Your Ebay Business

Make Money On Ebay By Creating And Growing Your Ebay Business

Many who decide to start an online business soon find the number of opportunities is almost limitless. Some of the business ideas are very straightforward and easy to understand. Others seem to require a specialized degree just to understand the words being tossed around. However there is one proven option that continues to deliver results. That option is eBay. It doesn’t matter whether you are seeking a part-time or a full-time income, or whether you are trying to supplement your current income, eBay is a sound online business option to be seriously considered. In this article I present make money on eBay by creating and growing your eBay business.

One of the true advantages of an eBay business is this marketplace is filled with ready, willing and able buyers. In fact there are millions of buyers all in one place. These buyers are just waiting for the items they seek. When the right items are found for the right price, a purchase is made. The challenge for you is to gain a solid understanding of what the buyers need and want, and exactly how much they are willing to pay. You need to locate a solid market niche. Then you need to isolate the products within that niche that will make money on eBay. It will take some time and effort to complete the research required. However you’ll be rewarded time and again for having completed a thorough investigation.

Once you’ve identified your niche and products it’s time to start exploring the marketplace to locate the right supplier for your business. You might find the solution with a wholesale supplier or distributor, or possibly directly with the product manufacturer. When buying wholesale product be sure to consider not only the cost of the merchandise, but also the costs associated with shipping. You are in this to make a profit, so it does little good to pay more than you can reasonably expect to receive when selling on eBay.

Another option to make money on eBay with a small initial investment is using a dropship company. With a dropshipper you don’t need to purchase product in advance and warehouse that product. In fact dropshippers provide several services as a part of their effort. They locate and purchase the product. It is shipped to their warehouse where it is received and then stored. When you make a sale the dropship company pulls, packages and dispatches the product to your buyer.

Whether you decide to purchase from a wholesale supplier or manufacturer, or use a dropship company, be sure to manage you business as the business it is. Don’t overpay for the products you sell. Be sure to include freight costs in your calculations. Don’t forget to add in the fees and costs associated with selling on eBay. If your goal is to make money on eBay, all of your costs need to be considered. You need to know you can achieve the results you seek.

Be sure to research and thoroughly investigate every step as you develop your eBay business. Make the best decisions by having the data you need. When you do make a final decided regarding the road you will follow, take action. Get your new business started. It is very possible to make money on eBay without investing a lot of money.

To your eBay success!

Make Money Online And Offline

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Many people are trying to make money online with the economy in the tank and people losing jobs left and right. There are many ways to make money online, what follows are some great ideas including selling on ebay.

Quick And Easy Ways To Make Money Online And Offline

make money onlineDiscover how you can start making some extra money quickly and easily working online or offline. Learn some great ideas and see tips on how to get started.

With the way the economy is and job losses increasing a lot of people are turning to the Internet looking for ways to earn some extra money online or even offline. Today I would like to help you in your online venture by shading some light on a few quick and easy ways anyone can make money online and offline.

  1. eBay – This is probably the easiest way to make a little extra cash online. Almost everyone has some type of junk lying around their home that they no long use or need. You can put these items up for auction on eBay, and let other people bid on your so called junk. If you find enough stuff to auction off you can make a pretty good amount of money, and you never know what it might lead to. Who knows you might like eBay and turn it into a full-time job!
  2. Craigslist – This is a lot like eBay, only you can post things you wish to sell or get rid of in your local area, and deal with people who live around the block from you. People search Craigslist daily, and you can always find someone who will buy your old sofa or something else you might be willing to get rid of for some extra money. Either way this is a great place to clear out some junk and turn it into easy money.
  3. Yard Sale – You see them all the time (usually on Sundays). A good yard sale can easily produce a few hundred bucks. Clean out your closet and get rid of things that you no longer use, and are just sitting around collecting dust. Post signs around your neighborhood letting people know about your upcoming yard sale, and when the day comes for the big event so will the money!
  4. selling on ebayAuction + Flee Market = Money – I did this myself for a year and each weekend I would pocket over $500. What you do is go to an auction and buy some things you think would sell (TV’s, Children’s books, Toys, Tools, Electronics etc.) Then go to an indoor or outdoor flee market and setup up a stand (usually it cost about $50 – $100 to have a stand for the day). Once you have your stand simply sell the items you got at the auction for a little more then you paid.
  5. Affiliate Marketing – Another easy way to make money online is affiliate marketing. What you do is sell someone else’s product or service, and in return they pay you a small commission. A good place to setup an affiliate account, and find products to promote is Clickbank.
  6. Create Your Own Product – I’ll admit this will take a little bit of time. But if you can create your own product, and sell it for say $20 all you have to do next is advertise your product to a target audience and you’ll be making money!

So there you have it. If you’re struggling to make money or looking for ideas on how you can put a few extra bucks in your pocket these are terrific ways to accomplish that. Making money online and offline is easy. You just have to think outside the box sometimes, and put in a little bit of work.
